Tyler Reddick had the lead and the fastest car on the track when calamity nearly struck.

Tyler Reddick wins NASCAR's first road race of 2023 at Circuit of the Americas with new team 23XI Racing.

Reddick's first win for Toyota came with 23XI Racing co-owned by Denny Hamlin and Michael Jordan.

Hamlin said Reddick showed poise to match talent that could lead to a whole lot of victories.

Kyle Busch pushed Reddick to victory at COTA. Busch, driving RCR's Chevrolet finished second after Reddick joined 23XI.

Hendrick Motorsports' Alex Bowman finished third at COTA, after having a chance to win on the final lap last season.

Defending winner Ross Chastain finished fourth, but his Trackhouse Racing teammate.

Hendrick's William Byron finished fifth, and Austin Cindric was the top Ford driver in sixth for Team Penske.

Reddick's winning strategy was threatened by late collisions, caution flags.
